Day 1 Cusco - Kilometer 104 - Aguas Calientes

  1. Winay Wayna

    10 hours Admission ticket included

Commencing the Inca Trail 2-day hike from Cusco at 4:00 am, our journey includes a picturesque 1.5-hour drive to Ollantaytambo for breakfast and a train ride to kilometer 104, marking the trail's commencement. Covering 15km of the Classic Inca Trail through the Sacred Valley, the trek showcases Inca sites and diverse flora. A highlight is the visit to Winay Wayna, where a mountain-view picnic is enjoyed. Passing through a lush cloud forest, participants may encounter various plants, flowers, and wildlife. Reaching the Sun Gate in the afternoon provides captivating views of Machu Picchu with fewer tourists, offering prime photo opportunities. After the iconic Guard House shot, a bus takes us to Aguas Calientes, allowing free time until dinner, which can include optional activities like a dip in the hot springs, concluding the day with an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2 Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Ollantaytambo - Cusco.

  1. Machu Picchu

On the second day, the highlight is the enchanting Machu Picchu experience. Starting with a pick-up from the hotel, you walk to the bus station for the 05:30 am departure to Machu Picchu, a scenic 30-minute journey. Upon reaching the sanctuary, a passport and Machu Picchu checkpoint precedes a guided tour exploring the history, geology, architecture, and biodiversity of this new wonder of the world. The visit lasts approximately 2 hours, followed by an optional hike to Huaynapicchu Mountain for those who have booked this separate entrance ticket at $65 per person. After returning to Aguas Calientes, lunch is provided before heading to the train station for the journey back to Ollantaytambo.
